Hopeless Balance/New Poem (Rough First Draft)
The sun will rise again tomorrow.
Forgive my hopeless balance,
I forgot to eat today.
I was focusing on the astounding,
while butchering the cynic in me
and flying perilously close
to the fire, all at the same time,
my nerves gloriously blunted.
I thought ‘I’ll never wake up
in monochrome again.’
But I will. And there will be
a pressure on my back
like a fin grown too…

Feeling very happy in Norway and wrote this in twenty minutes. It needs editing. What you see here really is a rough first draft!
My heart is a firecracker
against a mirror this morning.
There’s glitter in my belly button,
I don’t remember how it got there.
Beneath this baffling happiness,
my contentment with life is glacial
